Management Panel; Professional Resources

 November 10, 2015 Applebee's, Kennewick
Moderator John Robinson will lead a management panel discussion about the skills, abilities, experience and education they value in professional resources.  Discussion questions example: Based on years of supervising, hiring and promoting supply chain professionals, what attributes differentiate a great employee or lead to a highly marketable career?  What education or training would enhance my contributions and make me a more valuable resource to the organization?

The panel includes managers from various industries who will discuss the subject and, as time allows answer questions form the audience:  Pat Marmo, Bryan Tinnin, Peggy Glossen, John Noble

People start gathering around 5:30 p.m. Dinner is paid on your own - order from the menu. No charge to attend, invite your interested colleagues to join us. RSVP@ismcb.org

Pacific Northwest Purchasing Conference, October 2015 - Here are a few of my notes and observations-

The conference in Portland was great. Our conference planning committee pulled together world-class speakers for two days of education, networking and idea exchange. ISM Spokane organized the conference and I think they did an awesome job.

Participating in a regional conference is a great way to hear speakers and meet colleagues in cost-effective and collaborative setting. read my notes.

Career Opportunities

Did you miss our members-only notice in early October about several career opportunities? From time to time we hear from our members about career opportunities in the northwest. As time allows I've been sharing those opportunities with our ISM-CB members. Networking, sharing skills, resources and career opportunities are some of the values of membership in ISM-CB.  If you aren't a member - contact our Membership Directory Cory Miller for help in completing the application process.

Here is a sample of what we shared - an organization that may still have one senior buyer position open: https://www.selinc.com/careers/applynow.aspx

Holiday Social  & Program

ISM-CB and NCMA members and friends will celebrate the holidays on December 4 with a special program and gathering at Meadow Springs Country Club.  Read more about it and RSVP.

IMO (in my opinion....):  Mike Taylor, C.P.M.

Information Governance Imperative

I'm just back from our Conference in Portland. A number of the speakers commented about Big Data, the Internet of Things and Cloud data Services. These technologies are already and will increasingly affect supply Chains. Many of these technologies will be outsourced or directly incorporated into contractual agreements. Thus in my opinion, supply chain professionals need to become acquainted with the buzzwords and issues now. Read more…. http://www.mltweb.com/tools/imo.htm#Information_Governance
